Indo-French Joint Air Exercise Garuda-VI 

  • Began on 2nd July at Mont de Marsan in France. 
  • Indian Air force and French Air Force (Armée de l’Air) are participating in that. 
  • In June 2014 at Air Force Station Jodhpur, Rajasthan both did the last edition of joint air exercise.  

National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)  

  • The United States Senate has passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) a legislative provision that brings India at par with America’s NATO allies and countries like Israel and South 

Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) 

  • The United States designated BLA as Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT).

  • Tamil Nadu government declared Tamil yeoman (Cirrochroa thais) as state butterfly of Tamil Nadu.

  • The Centre today announced over 35 crores LED bulbs have been distributed in the country till 28th of last month.

1st international flight of ASSOM 

  • On 2nd July Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off the 1st international flight connecting Guwahati and Dhaka at Borjahr airport in Guwahati. 

Nagaland “Disturbed Area”

  • Government of India extended Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) 6 more month and declared Nagaland as Disturb Area effective from 30th June 2019.

‘Dastak’. Campaign Launched by UP Govt. 

  • To eradicate deadly Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) disease.
  • Duration 1st July to 30 July 2019

Committee for the transformation of Indian Agriculture 

  • The govt has constituted a High powered committee of Chief Ministers of several states
  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be the convener of the committee, while the chief ministers of Karnataka, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh have been included as members.
  • Union Agriculture, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister will also be a member of the committee.
  • Besides, NITI Aayog member Ramesh Chand has been named the Member Secretary.

Supreme Court Judgment will Available in 6 Languages 

  • Supreme Court has decided to make its judgment available in 6 languages  on the website
  • The languages are Assamese, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Odia and Telugu.
