MPPSC full form is Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, MPPSC State Service Exam is conducted for the recruitment to various posts in government offices of the state of Madhya Pradesh.  Most probably This exam is conducted in three phases first is the preliminary exam, second is the mains exam followed by the interview. Following the UPSC-IAS exam pattern aspirants who clear the prelim exam are allowed to appear for the main exam. However, the best candidates who clear the main exam will appear in the interview and after clearing the interview is admitted to various posts in the respective government department.

Exam Pattern

State Civil Services Examination is a 3-stage examination

Stage 1  Preliminary Test

Stage 2  Main Exam

Stage 3  Interview

Stage 1 Preliminary Test

It consists of objective questions with NO penalty (NO negative marking) for wrong answers. (next preliminary exam will be held on Jan or Feb 2018)

Paper 1 General Studies (200 marks) 2 hours

Paper 2 CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) (200 marks) 2 hours (qualifying in nature needs marks fixed at 33%)

Stage 2 Mains Exam

The Main Exam consists of 6 papers which are usually held after 2-3 months of pre-exam for around 5-7 days. The current pattern of the Main examination is as follows:-
General Studies
Paper 1(GS-I)  300 marks (3 hours)
Paper 2(GS-II) 300 marks (3 hours)
Paper 3(GS-III) 300 marks (3 hours)
Paper 4 (GS IV, ethics) 200 marks (3 hours)
Paper 5 (General Hindi) 200 marks (3 hours)
Paper 6 (essay writing in Hindi) 100 marks (2 hours)
TOTAL MARKS (mains)-1400.

Stage 3 Interviews

Students who qualify for Interview are called by the MPPSC. The interview is of 175 marks.
